During the first two weeks of April, members of the House of Representatives will be in their home districts while Congress is on recess. Many will hold at least one town hall meeting that you can attend.
Please consider attending a local town hall meeting. You will have the opportunity to speak face-to-face with your representative about The Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis Care and Cure Act (PPARCCA) of 2007 – which is important whether or not s/he has signed on as a cosponsor on the bill.
As you know, to help ensure that this landmark bill receives broad bipartisan support, we need as many representatives as possible to cosponsor it. Attending a town hall meeting is a perfect opportunity to introduce your representative to psoriasis or remind your representative about psoriasis and your recent visit to Washington D.C. Attending a town hall meeting will help demonstrate to your representative that we are not going away and that psoriasis deserves attention.
Attending a town hall meeting is easy and fun! The National Psoriasis Foundation will walk you through all the necessary steps – from finding your meetings to providing you with questions to ask and other materials to help maximize your effectiveness at the meeting.
Members of Congress pay close attention to the attendees of town hall meetings, so your participation will raise the profile of Psoriasis Foundation concerns and priorities with Congress. Our goal is for members of Congress to return to Washington telling their staff that “those psoriasis advocates” were everywhere! Help us make this goal a reality!
Please click here to learn more, including how to find meetings and important materials to prepare you for a successful town hall meeting! Thank you again for speaking out on behalf of the psoriasis community!
I personally will be attending Rep. Pete Stark's town meeting on
